The current culture considers this a "holiday"... a reference to smoking marijuana and the never ending maze of self-medication. This "harmless" recreational drug numbs the soul, freeing you only for only a short time of the pressures, hurts and pains of this life.
Many quote the medicinal application of marijuana, but most are not in need of real medical attention but healing for a broken soul.
True inner healing comes from our Creator, not from creation such as marijuana.
However the call from Christ does not come as easy...
Matthew 4:20 directs us to leave the old behind, drop everything you know and are familiar with and follow after Him, follow after a new way of life!
The Amplified bible puts it this way: Immediately they left their nets and followed Him [becoming His disciples, believing and trusting in Him and following His example].
It's not an easy path, unlike the fog of 4/20, drifting in a cloud and the slow wasting away of the precious life that has been given to you.
It is a call to surrender, but the prize of unconditional love, forgiveness, purpose, destiny that comes from walking in relationship with Christ now and for all eternity are so well worth it! Invite Jesus in, Surrender but dont stop there, FOLLOW!
Let 4:20 be the day you choose a new life in Christ <3
